However, prior to the holidays the kids experienced a pretty devastating loss. One of their school friends died in a ski accident. This lovely little gal was in Neela's grade....and was Ashton's treasured big buddy/bus buddy. Our school community was deeply saddened and Ashton struggled the most with grief. A hard thing. My heart goes out to this young gal's family as we all try to imagine the depth and breadth of this unimaginable loss. Rest in peace dear Abby.

A quick aside.....this month Neela started her ortho work (poor girl has some complex teeth, including a missing adult tooth). First round - braces on the 2 front teeth. I think she still looks as cute as pie!
