First Time on Skis

We have been meaning to take the kids skiing all season, but either the weather (so darn cold lately) or lack of time got in the way.  So with the weather *finally* improving we decided to play 'hooky' and skip work and school to escape into the mountains.  Man, did we luck out.  It was amazing out there...so hot in the afternoon we could ski without mitts, hats and jackets.  I think I got a sunburn on my face! LOVE IT!

Both kids did amazing.  Neela started with an hour and a half lesson with two other kids. Her teacher said she was a natural, and we don't doubt it.  She was up and down the beginner hill all on her own the remainder of the day and we couldn't keep up with her.

Ashton had a private one hour lesson and he also did way better than we expected. He was nervous before he started (just worried about the unknown) but again he was up and down the hill with a big smile on his face all day.  He still struggles a bit with balance and stopping but overall he did wonderful.  Nigel and I joined the kids in the afternoon and we all came home spent.

By mid afternoon the sun came out and it was smokin hot!
