Back in business

Now that Christmas is done for another year, and I have found my new groove as a mother of two, it is time for me to start re-focusing on my business! Nigel and I spent a good portion of this past week reviewing and updating my website so it will be ready to go for the New Year. Just in time too - as I am already booked until the middle of January! And all this without paying a thing for advertising. Amazing.

I do wish I had more time to dedicate to my business, especially when things get so busy I am unable to assist with many requests for help. Since the winter months are usually some of my busiest I will most likely be turning people away when my time gets maxed out. I am considering hiring part time child care at some point in the future so I can focus a greater chunk of my time on client work, but I haven't explored this option in great detail just yet.

Recently I read an article by another set of 'Mompreneurs' who are also struggling with the business/family balance. They summarized my thoughts nicely in the following point: "one of the greatest challenges is feeling like we will miss a wave that could be great for our company, but knowing we had to turn it down because of our committment to our families. The great thing about waves is that they keep coming, so we wait for the next one and climb on when we can".

I too find it difficult to step aside and not grow my business to its full potentital, but I know I am doing it because I am committed to my growing family right now. I will get better at juggling family and work again, and there will be plenty of opportunities ahead, but for now it is just nice to be officially back in business!!!
