The Latest

My goodness the summer is flying by, but we have been enjoying it.

Over the past few months both of the kids have each grown and changed....

Neela has become more imaginative and can spend extended amounts of time playing on her own. She gets out her animals, cars or figurines and makes up grand stories with them. She also loves to color and when she gets in the mood she can spend a good hour concentrating on her coloring. This change is so appreciated these days, as Ashton is taking up more and more of my time.

Ashton has changed dramatically. He is walking and talking and interacting with us on a whole new level. Just this week he learned how to complete the sentence: "ready, set...." by shouting "go!" every time he heard it. This is thanks to Neela who was running around exclaiming it. Ashton can also answer the questions: "What does the cow say (moooo), What does the fish say (blub blub) and what does the kitty say (meow)"! As of today I would say he is a full time walker...crawling only on the rare occasions now. Crazy to see him toddling around at just ten months old.

Although I had great plans to take the entire summer 'off' from work, that didn't happen. The domino effect had started so one thing led to another and things kept motoring along at a rapid pace. I launched Career Impressions last week with a brand new team of three staff - and we are all really excited. I still don't know how I am fitting in the care of two young kids (no babysitter this summer) and the running of this organization. Whew.

Things won't slow down one bit come Fall.....actually things will probably kick up a gear. Neela starts preschool three mornings a week, and between driving her to and from school and working several mornings/evenings the days will be FULL! I am looking forward to our babysitter rejoining us on Sept. 1st as I welcome some dedicated time to work and getting back into a new routine.

Sad to see the summer coming to a close though. Love the warmer weather...the sunshine and the longer days (makes getting up at 530am a bit more bearable). Sigh.
