This year I tried hard to soak up every moment of the traditional egg decorating, egg hunt and easter bunny excitement because it won't be long before the day loses its magic.
I enjoy every second of the kids joy.
I love their enthusiasm for the simplest things...decorating eggs gets them all riled up and Neela especially thrives in this crafty task. Ashton is more interested each year, but he only needs to decorate a few eggs before the novelty wears off.
The finished masterpieces
Easter morning. Neela was in our room at 7:00am on the dot rambling on about eggs in the hallway and soft thuds she heard in the night. Her eyes were bright and she was on cloud nine. She raced to get herself dressed while we waited for Ashton to wake up.
This year Ashton honed his egg finding skills and he was right in there - spying in every nook and cranny and locating eggs in the oddest places. Big silly smiles on both of their faces that morning.
Memories being made.
After the hunt...the first taste of chocolate!
