In the Spring I entered the Canadian Awards of Excellence competition (which I also entered last year and was awarded Best Executive Resume), so I decided to also submit my already prepared applications to the TORI Awards (Toast of the Resume Industry Awards). I have been following the TORI Awards for years, in awe by the showcase of talent from around the world. The TORI's are my industry's equivalent to the Oscars - an esteemed honor just to get nominated (only five people are selected per category). So I submitted my applications, with several hundred others, and left it at that.
Jump to this morning...get an email that the nominations are out. I am eager to see which known professionals will be on the list and to my absolute shock - find my name in the list. Really, I was shocked. After screaming in disbelief for several minutes I immediately called Nigel and through shrieks and tears, shared my news. What an amazing honor. So thrilled today.
The winners will be announced in October.
The Career Directors International just sent me my official logo for display and promotion. So here it is....a moment in my career I am sure to remember:
